Chicopee Woods Park Rules
Northeast Georgia SORBA has an agreement with the Park Commission to maintain the trails here. Our maintenance activities are entirely funded by your donations. We have an orange donation box at the trailhead or you can donate through our website. The land manager here is the Chicopee Woods Area Park Commission. The trails are open 7a.m. to sunset. A parking fee is required. Please support the Park by purchasing an annual parking pass. All parking fees go to the Chicopee Woods Park Commission, not Northeast Georgia SORBA. They use these fees to maintain the parking areas and other park enhancements. This Park operates without public funds (i.e. no annual local or state tax dollars).
Elachee Nature Science Center Trails in Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve- Bikes are never allowed on the Elachee Nature Science Center Trails. Think of Chicopee as private property where the landowner has given the public permission to ride if they follow a few rules. Chicopee Woods Park is unique in that it is an entity created by the State of Georgia without funding and left to local volunteers (Park Commission) to manage. We are fortunate to have access to this land so close to home so please follow the rules as they are posted at the trailhead. |
